Foo Fighters recently played at the 2,200 capacity Fillmore New Orleans, and Dave Grohl joked that he didn’t want to play in a venue this small the next time the band plays New Orleans. Grohl’s delivery may have been a bit too dry though, as many fans didn’t get the joke!

Grohl said, “I had a good time, I hope you did too. Did you have a good time tonight? I hope you did. Hopefully next time you see us, it won’t be in a place this small.”

Some fans then booed and groaned.

Grohl responded, “It’s a fucking joke. Goddammit. I can’t even, My God I dropped some shit right now. Too much time off. I thought it was funny.”

Foo Fighters were originally supposed to be the first band to open The Fillmore New Orleans in February, with a special parade planned around the Mardi Gras celebrations in February, but Dave Grohl had surgery on his arm, forcing the shows to be postponed until May.
