Chris Cornell’s Audioslave bandmate and Rage Against The Machine guitarist Tom Morello reacted to homophobic comments on a Cubs Pride post, just after his photo of the Dukes of Hazard with a gay pride flag.

Morello wrote, “Thanks @cubs for celebrating Chicago Pride today! THANKYOU for celebrating the diversity of this great city and your great fan base, the best in the world! Pity they had to disable the comments section because of all the intolerance & hate voiced there last year. #ChicagoPride #WeShallOvercome #NoHateInBaseballPlease #SweetHomeChicago #GoCubs #FlyTheW.”

He recently said, “Happy 75th bday #JeffBeck! Wired & Blow By Blow were two of my biggest “jam along with” albums of all time. Spent HUNDREDS of hours “sitting in” on these albums. Beck is one of the all time greats. Also, LOVE his work on Roger Waters album Amused To Death-check it out if u haven’t already. Brilliant.”

In another message, Morello wrote, “HAPPY BIRTHDAY NILS! The great #NilsLofgren and I got to stand shoulder to shoulder during my stint as onstage ally of the E Street Band. He is a true musician’s musician. When I had to learn 250 @springsteen songs and then Bruce would add another 14 on show day, he’s the guy I would turn to. Always the first one at the venue hours ahead of everyone else, practicing, honing, perfecting.

His career with Bruce, Neil Young and as a solo artist demonstrate his extraordinary professionalism, multifaceted abilities, beautiful voice, and otherworldly soloing. And he’s a lovely dude. Happy birthday, buddy. Lotsa love!”
