Tool guitarist Adam Jones revealed that the band announced the death of Kobe Bryant onstage after his helicopter accident onstage. Maynard James Keenan just ‘no showed’ an event with Tool.

Jones wrote on social media, “Yesterday was bittersweet. We won a Grammy but lost our Hero. We r numb & sad. God bless 9 souls lost & all their loved ones. 💔”

Thisguycharles commented on Reddit, “Danny had #24 for his Hawks jersey too. I’ve seen him wear #8 in the past too but because if the no pictures it was hard to go back and see how regularly he already wears Kobe’s numbers.”

SirKadath wrote, “I feel for Vanessa (Kobe’s Wife), the pain she is going through right now. I couldn’t even imagine its one thing to lose your partner in life its a whole other to lose a child. RIP Kobe & RIP Neil … 2020 has not started off to good.”

ShrodingersPat said, “Thank you for this. This is where my two world’s collide. Kobe and Maynard are my only 2 heroes. I met Danny at a Laker game during Kobe’s last season. He was sitting across the aisle from me, so I went to sit on the steps next to him. We didn’t talk about Tool, we talked about Kobe. He signed my Jersey, took a pic. That moment means so much more to me now.”

BeyondTheCircles chimed in, “Danny and Kobe. Two of the best to ever do it at their crafts. And both doing it in LA.” Maynard James Keenan recently revealed why he snubbed the Grammys.
