Alter Bridge, Venue Clash Over Rome Show Cancellation
Alter Bridge’s scheduled European tour stop in Rome on February 2 was cancelled at the last minute, sparking a public dispute between the band’s camp and the venue, Atlantico Live. The show was set to include support from Daughtry and Sevendust, with ticket holders told refunds would be available through points of purchase.
In its own statement, Rock Celebrities reported that Atlantico Live said the cancellation decision was taken “exclusively by the artist’s production” and was “not attributable to the venue,” adding that the stage had already been set up and that attendees had begun accessing Mark Tremonti’s guitar clinic.
Alter Bridge’s initial message to fans cited “production concerns at today’s venue in Rome” as the reason for pulling the date, without detailing specific issues. Atlantico Live, however, said it “categorically denies” online claims of alleged “safety issues,” arguing that the facility complies with applicable safety and prevention regulations and undergoes regular inspections and certifications under Italian rules.
The venue also stressed that the band has previously played there twice, saying it had been considered suitable to Alter Bridge’s standards. The Rome cancellation arrives as fans continue to scrutinise the group’s future amid side projects and shifting schedules, including ongoing chatter about whether Alter Bridge are breaking up after the Creed reunion.
With both sides standing by their accounts, the fallout underscores how quickly touring logistics can turn into a public standoff when production requirements and venue safety assurances collide—especially with multiple bands and crowds already on site.
