Billy Corgan Reveals Sad Truth About Scott Weiland

Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan has paid frequent tribute on social media to late Stone Temple Pilots singer Scott Weiland since his December 2015 death, and Corgan had yet again said that he is still very sad that Weiland is gone.

A fan said to Corgan on Instagram, “I love Scott Weiland’s work and I just want to say thank you for your words about him. He is underrated.”

Corgan responded, “Yes, still sad Scott is no longer with us.” A Scott Weiland bandmate recently reacted to a Chris Cornell imitation claim.

Billy Corgan also recently wrote about the new Smashing Pumpkins albums he is working on with James Iha, Jimmy Chamberlin, and Jeff Schroeder, “Vol 2/3: Took song #23 out of album mix, so down to 22 songs. With 9 or 10 days left I may go into writing once more, to compete with the 22 or possibly add more. As always I feel the edges of the music landscape aren’t as covered as I’d like (heavy and ethereal for example). Outside of that continued today to cull arrangements and finished going through all guitar pedals.”

Billy Corgan recently called out a Woodstock lie. Corgan later wrote, “SP album update: Last 2 days, took another song off list (having had a listening session with JC), but then wrote 2 more so total is back up to 23. Also went and listened to some 50+ discarded ideas, and pulled one from the ash heap which I’m currently working on.”
