Blake Shelton Explains Missing Gwen Stefani’s Sphere Opener

Blake Shelton has addressed why he did not attend Gwen Stefani and No Doubt’s opening night at the Sphere in Las Vegas, as the couple continue to face online speculation about their marriage. Shelton, 49, spoke about the scheduling clash during his own show at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace on Wednesday night, telling the crowd that Stefani was in town but performing across the Strip.

During the onstage remarks, Shelton blamed the overlap on his booking arrangements. Page Six reported that Shelton told the audience, “What kind of a d–khead books us the exact same nights every single night?” before adding that he believed his manager was responsible for the scheduling.

The conflict comes as Shelton launched his eight-show “Blake Shelton: Live in Las Vegas” run the same night Stefani, 56, and No Doubt began their first of 18 dates at the Sphere. In January, Shelton had acknowledged the residencies would overlap and joked that he would be “in direct competition” with his wife, noting the difference between selling out Caesars and selling out the Sphere.

In recent months, the pair have also been the subject of divorce rumours, which surfaced again as their Las Vegas commitments began. Alternative Nation previously noted how Shelton’s absence fuelled speculation when he missed a No Doubt-related appearance that fans expected him to attend.

Shelton and Stefani met as coaches on “The Voice” and married in July 2021. For now, Shelton’s latest comments frame the Sphere no-show as a calendar problem rather than a personal one, with both artists committed to headline residencies on the same nights in Las Vegas.
