Blake Shelton Explains Why He Missed No Doubt Show
Mr. Blake Shelton addressed his absence from the opening night of Gwen Stefani’s No Doubt residency at the Las Vegas Sphere, telling fans the clash came down to his own scheduled performances on the same nights. The country star, who is also in the middle of a Vegas run, made the remarks onstage as speculation swirled online about why he was not in the audience for the high-profile debut.
TMZ reported that Shelton joked during his Wednesday night show at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, “What kind of a d***head books us the exact same nights every single night? I think my manager did that,” while explaining he was playing his own residency dates just down the street from the Sphere.
The report noted Shelton is performing his “Blake Shelton: Live In Las Vegas” residency throughout May, while No Doubt are set to play 18 shows at the Sphere through mid-June. TMZ also said the band opened their first night with “Tragic Kingdom,” and that they covered material across their catalogue while leaving out tracks from their 2012 album “Push and Shove.”
Outside the immediate scheduling issue, Shelton and Stefani have faced frequent tabloid chatter, and Alternative Nation previously reported on claims that friends were “worried” about Shelton with Stefani amid recurring rumours about the couple.
For now, Shelton’s comments frame his opening-night absence as a simple case of double-booking rather than a lack of support, with both artists committed to separate Las Vegas stages on overlapping dates.
