Following Ozzy Osbourne’s passing last Tuesday (July 22nd), thousands of tributes to the late Prince of Darkness from fans and fellow musicians flooded social media. Now, another, somewhat unexpected, music legend is honoring the iconic metal pioneer: Céline Dion.

On Friday (July 25th), Dion paid tribute to Osbourne, writing on Facebook:

“Ozzy and I were label mates for many years — and although we came from very different musical universes, I always admired his boundless spirit and ear for melody on songs like ‘Mama I’m Coming Home.’ He was a true original! Fearless, and simply larger than life…but also kind, thoughtful, and generous.

“My heart is with his beloved wife Sharon, their children, and his millions of adoring fans from around the world.

“With all my love, – Celine xx…”

The Canadian superstar’s tribute is just one of many that have made it clear just how much of an impact Osbourne has had not only on rock and metal, but on music in general. Artists from all genres have honored the Prince of Darkness in the days following his death, including Coldplay, Lady Gaga, Ice T, and Oasis.
