Linkin Park recently released their first song ‘Emptiness Machine’ without having vocals of Chester Bennington and it is the opening track of the upcoming album From Zero. It features new co-vocalist Emily Armstrong and drummer Colin Brittain.
The band is set to release their upcoming album on November 15. However, what’s causing even more stir on social media is an AI-generated version of the song by energico featuring the voice of the late Chester Bennington.
Chester Bennington vocals in ‘Emptiness Machine’
While Linkin Park hasn’t officially released any version of the track with Chester’s vocals, the AI-generated rendition has surfaced on social media. Hearing Chester’s iconic voice paired with new material has been an emotional experience for many, reminding them of the powerful presence he brought to every Linkin Park song.
The use of AI to recreate Chester’s vocals has made the fans nostalgic. Some fans feel it’s a tribute to his legacy, giving them a glimpse of what new music might have sounded like if Chester were still with us. Others, however, feel uneasy about using AI for such purposes, as it touches on sensitive emotions.
Regardless, the AI version of “Emptiness Machine” featuring Chester Bennington is a reminder of his impact on Linkin Park fans. While nothing can replace the real Chester, this AI version shows just how much his voice is still missed and celebrated by fans everywhere.
Linkin Park have also announced a new album ‘From Zero’, shared a new single ‘The Emptiness Machine’ and announced a short world tour beginning this month.
On this new era of the band, Mike Shinoda says “Before Linkin Park, our first band name was Xero. This album title refers to both this humble beginning and the journey we’re currently undertaking. Sonically and emotionally, it is about past, present, and future—embracing our signature sound, but new and full of life. It was made with a deep appreciation for our new and longtime bandmates, our friends, our family, and our fans. We are proud of what Linkin Park has become over the years, and excited about the journey ahead.”
Linkin Park’s short world tour will see six arena shows across the world between September and November this year. The tour will kick off at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles on September 11. Other stops include New York, Germany, London, South Korea and Colombia. Linkin Park’s LP Underground fan club pre-sales begin on September 6 and general tickets go live on September 7.
