Chester Bennington’s Child Violet Shares Name Change

Chester Bennington’s child has announced a name change, sharing that she will now go by Violet. The update comes years after the late Linkin Park frontman’s death in 2017 and follows her earlier decision to publicly discuss her gender transition.

In a brief statement shared on social media, Violet wrote, “I’m changing my name to Violet,” and the change follows her recent coming out as transgender.

Violet previously explained that she began taking steps toward living more openly last year, saying that in August she chose “the path of happiness and being true to myself.” She added that she came out as transgender and started hormone replacement therapy, calling it “the best decision I’ve ever made in my life.”

The Bennington family has remained in the public eye in the years since the singer’s death, and the latest personal update follows earlier coverage in which Chester Bennington’s ex-wife alleged “family secrets” in comments that drew renewed attention to the late musician’s private life.

Violet’s announcement marks another milestone in her transition, with the name change reflecting a step toward personal identity that she has described as central to her wellbeing.
