Fans were shocked when Dave Grohl announced that he’d fathered a daughter outside of his marriage and recently Slipknot’s Corey Taylor shared his thoughts on the matter.

Corey Taylor weighed in on the controversy during a recent episode of the Your Mom’s House podcast, hosted by comedians and married couple Tom Segura and Christina Pazsitzky.
After initially describing the situation as “messy,” Taylor began not only explaining why the rocker put out the statement he did.
“I’ll tell you exactly why they put out a press release — it’s because he wanted to get ahead of it… He knew that if he didn’t say something, somebody else was going to say something.”
Grohl had posted a statement to his personal Instagram page on September 10 where he announced his infidelity, the fact that he was fathering the child and intended to be in her life, and how he hoped to fix not just his marriage of more than 21 years with Jordyn Blum, but also his relationship with his daughters Violet, Harper, and Ophelia.
Here’s the statement:
“I’ve recently become the father of a new baby daughter, born outside of my marriage. I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her. I love my wife and my children, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness. We’re grateful for your consideration toward all the children involved, as we move forward together.”
Taylor, who’s known Grohl personally for a while now, stood up for the rocker by stating that even though his actions were “irresponsible,” they were proof that he’s just a flawed human being like the rest of us.
“I have to remind people that we’re not perfect.
“I’m gonna say something very controversial. This happening does not mean he’s not a nice person, because I happen to know him as a person. It means he’s got fu**ing issues and he fu**ed up [and] he’s not perfect. It is going to be very difficult for his family.”
