Sammy Hagar and The Circle paid tribute to the Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkin during their April 29 concert at the Beale Street Music Festival in Memphis, Tennessee. Michael Anthony, Jason Bonham, Vic Johnson, and Hagar himself of the Circle performed “My Hero”, a cover of the Foo Fighters song to honor Hawkins. Hawkins died while on tour in South America with the band.

Foo Fighters were scheduled to perform at the festival on April 29, but it was canceled due to Hawkins’ passing away. His death occurred on the same day the band was going to perform at a concert. They were in Colombia and were going to play at the Festival Estereo Picnic in Bogota.

The band was also replaced for the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival. They were also replaced for the Osheaga 2022 show as well. The band was also replaced by Muse at the Rock in Rio Lisboa, which is scheduled for June 18.

In sad photos, Dave Grohl, Pat Smear, and Nate Mendel were seen watching Red Hot Chili Peppers play in tribute to Hawkins. Drummer Chad Smith has “Taylor” spelled out on his drum in tribute.

The sudden death of Hawkins completely shook up the band and they paused all their activities. Dave Grohl was seen greeting his daughter Violet Grohl in a live video stream on Instagram. This is one of the first few interactions that fans have publicly seen since the sad news.

The cause of death for Hawkins’ sudden passing away hasn’t been released, but according to investigations, some white powder similar to cocaine was found in Hawkins’ room.
