Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl ate at Stanley’s in Tyler, Texas for dinner on Wednesday night. Grohl had a bill of $286.86, which you can see he paid in the photo album below.

Local resident Daniel Poe spotted Good Guy Grohl at Stanley’s Famous Pit Bar-B-Q in Tyler, and discussed meeting him in a Chron interview.

“It’s always a pleasure to meet people you admire, especially someone of Dave’s caliber. He was just as warm and friendly as you would hope him to be.”

“It was surreal to have such casual conversation with someone who has shaped the face of rock and roll the way he has. This man has had his hand in several of my favorite records, from the Foos, to QOTSA (Queens of the Stone Age), to McCartney. All the better to visit with him at my favorite BBQ joint.”

Dave Grohl is a BBQ enthusiast, having launched his own Backbeat BBQ side gig last year. Eater reported in November, “Dave Grohl continues to be the best, as he showed up at a fire station out in Calabasas to serve free hot meals to those working tirelessly to battle the ongoing Woolsey Fire. What’s even more interesting than all that goodwill, though, is news that Grohl himself may be starting up a barbecue-focused project of his own called Back Beat BBQ.

There’s a young Instagram page now live under that name, and it’s getting flooded with Foo Fighters fans who expect news at some point down the line. Grohl already has a long history with meat and smoke, and was recently helping out a buddy at a barbecue pop-up at the Valley Urban Market in Studio City. No word yet on whether Back Beat BBQ will offer pop-ups of their own, stay private, or move into a physical space some time in the future.”
