Twisted Sister Drop 2026 Reunion Tour Plans Over Dee Snider Health
Twisted Sister have pulled the plug on their planned 2026 reunion dates, with the band citing serious health issues affecting frontman Dee Snider. The cancellation ends what was billed as a limited 50th anniversary run that would have marked the group’s first tour since their 2016 farewell.
The tour had been set to launch on April 25 in São Paulo, Brazil, but Ultimate Classic Rock reported that Snider has been battling degenerative arthritis, has undergone multiple surgeries in recent years, and has also learned that the intensity of his performing has taken a toll on his heart.
In statements posted by band members Mr. Jay Jay French and Mr. Eddie Ojeda, Twisted Sister said Snider’s “sudden and unexpected resignation” forced the cancellation of all scheduled shows “continuing through the summer,” adding that the group’s future would be decided in the coming weeks. Snider, who is 70, was quoted as saying the idea of slowing down was unacceptable to him, and that he would “rather walk away than be a shadow” of his former self.
Snider has remained a visible presence away from the stage in recent years, including incidents that have led to him speaking publicly about needing armed security at times, even as he continued to discuss the demands of touring and performing at full intensity.
The announcement is another reminder of how quickly major reunion plans can change when health becomes a factor, particularly for legacy acts attempting high-energy shows decades into their careers. For now, fans will have to wait to see whether Twisted Sister pursue any alternative format for their anniversary year or whether the band’s story onstage has reached its final chapter.
