Dee Snider Denies ‘Deathbed’ Rumours After Tour Cancellation

Twisted Sister frontman Dee Snider has pushed back against online rumours about his health after the band cancelled its planned 2026 reunion dates. Snider addressed the speculation directly in a video message, telling fans he is not “dying” and that the situation has been exaggerated following his decision to step away from touring.

In a statement shared on social media, Snider said his tour cancellation was tied to health issues including heart problems and arthritis, but stressed he remains “alive and well.” He added that he can no longer perform at the high-intensity level he maintained through his twenties and later decades, and he does not want audiences to see him delivering anything less than the standard fans expect.

Snider also thanked supporters for the outpouring of concern, while rejecting suggestions that he could simply appear onstage and take it easy. He said that approach is not who he is, and apologised to fans for cancelling the shows while making clear that stepping back from live performance was the responsible decision for his body.

The rocker said he is still keeping busy with other work, including hosting his “House of Hair” radio show and directing a movie, and he expects to remain active creatively even if he is no longer able to tour. His decision follows the circumstances described when he cancelled dates due to heart issues in prior Alternative Nation coverage.

For Snider, the focus now appears to be on protecting his long-built legacy as a performer while continuing projects that do not demand the same physical toll as a full tour. His latest message was aimed at calming fears and drawing a clear line between managing ongoing health challenges and the more extreme rumours that have circulated online.
