If you ever wanted to own a piece of music history, now is your chance as a courtesy of Reverb, a personal gift from the late, great Eddie Van Halen to Aerosmith bandmate Brad Whitford is available for purchase for the cool, cool price of twenty-six thousand dollars. This particular piece, a purple music man EVH guitar was made in late 1991 and used by Whitford from the early 1990s to 2017. It should be noted that the guitar is in excellent condition with no considerable issues. It also comes with a certificate of authenticity signed by Whitford. Recently, the last message between Eddie Van Halen and this a-list actor was revealed.

Van Halen was always prideful about his music and there was no greater example of this than when the legendary guitarist was tasked to pick his favorite Van Halen tracks. During an interview with Spinner.com back in the late 2000s, Eddie Van Halen was asked where an emerging fan would start when it came to the Van Halen catalog. Credit to Far Out Magazine for the following transcription.

“I think ‘Eruption’ is one. ‘Spanish Fly’, just because it’s the same thing except it sounds like Segovia doing something, it’s on a Flamenco guitar. I wish somebody would take that technique and do something with it. I had no idea it would trip people out to the point that it did.”

He continued: “To pick songs, I can only go by what the audience response is, like say ‘Runnin’ with the Devil’. To the day I die, we’ll have to play that because that’s what people want to hear, and ‘Ain’t Talkin’ ‘Bout Love’, ‘Unchained’, and ‘Jump’. There are all kinds of stuff.”

He would conclude: “I love ‘Girl Gone Bad’. One of my favorite songs of ours is ‘Drop Dead Legs’,” Van Halen threw out as well. “Whether it’s a hit or not, I love that song. Probably the more obscure stuff, like Wolfie [Van Halen, Eddie’s son] loves ‘Romeo Delight’. I do too.”
