Eddie Van Halen’s widow Janie Van Halen posted a photo announcing that she is devastated by the death of her mother, just a month after the loss of her beloved husband Eddie.

Janie wrote, “My beautiful mom has left this earth to be with her husband Martin, her son Tom and her son in law Ed. I am absolutely devastated and just don’t know how much more I can take. 💔”

She previously tweeted, “Sometimes the person perceived as the strongest is actually the weakest. Broken & lost but finally starting therapy today for the emotional support & help I need. #notashamed #toomuchfortoolong #sufferinginsilence #husband #cancersux #brother #addictionsux #stepdad #dad.”

Van Halen fans on VHLinks.com offered their condolences. Darrin Stephens posted, “And now Janie’s mom has passed too. Geez wish you could take someone’s pain away.”

Dutchie5150, “What a horrible year for Janie. She lost her brother, husband and now her Mother all in one year.

Thoughts, prayers and love being sent to her tonight.”

T.B. said, “Wow, news like that puts in perspective that most people who’ve had a crummy 2020, there’s always someone else who’s had it far worse. I recall seeing a tweet a week or two ago from her that she had found someone to help with depression she was experiencing.”

DFVH5150 chimed in, “I don’t even know what to say about that. That is so horrible. Wow.”

Eddie married Janie, Van Halen’s publicist, in 2009, with his brother Alex Van Halen ordaining the wedding. Eddie’s ex-wife Valerie Bertinelli was in attendance, and she remained on good terms with Janie and Eddie until Eddie’s death last month, a rarity in rock and roll where a divorce ended on good terms.
