Eddie Vedder Announces Huge Show With Jay-Z, Beyonce & Ed Sheeran


Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder will be performing at the Global Citizen Festival: Mandela 100 on December 2nd at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg. Jay-Z, Beyonce, Ed Sheeran, and Coldplay’s Chris Martin are also performing,

This free-ticketed event will celebrate the centenary year of Nelson Mandela, honoring his legacy in the fight to end extreme poverty.

“It is such an honor to be given the chance to head to South Africa to celebrate Nelson Mandela’s incomparable legacy. He showed an entire generation what it means to be a leader and make a difference for the world’s poor. I’m so grateful that this event will serve as a reminder of his great work and inspire us all to carry on in his name,” said Eddie.

    It’s a bit discouraging that Pearl Jam won’t be a part of this. One man travels a lot lighter and cheaper than 20+, of course.

      I agreed with you then noticed that they seem to be concentrating on singers-like Chris Martin of Coldplay. I hope it’s a really successful concert.

        Martin is a board member of that thing. Vedder turned it down officially, I believe, as did the band, but basically said I’ll be there whenever I can, if reports out there are accurate.

        Martin-Vedder did Nothingman last time and it stole the show.
