Lita Ford confirmed the cancellation of all three scheduled dates, citing the affected shows and expressing regret over the news.
Lita Ford announced, “We are very sad to announce the cancellation of the following three shows for next month with Gene Simmons, Sebastian Bach & Quiet Riot: July 17th – Fresno CA, July 18th – Murphys CA, July 19th – Stateline NV.”
“Sincere apologies for the inconvenience caused and we hope to be back in these markets very soon.”
The reason for the cancellations was not provided. Fans in the affected markets are encouraged to watch for further updates regarding potential rescheduled dates.
The cancellations bring an abrupt end to what was shaping up to be a high-profile summer package tour. They also raise broader questions about the commercial viability of the run from the outset.
Rumors surrounding the cancellations point to low ticket sales as a primary factor. The tour had drawn attention — and criticism — for its aggressive pricing structure, which included a “roadie for a day” experience priced at $12,000. The steep cost of premium packages is believed to have dampened overall demand across all three markets.
Ticketmaster has confirmed that refunds will be issued to ticketholders for the Stateline, Nevada date. Payments will be returned to the original method of purchase. Similar refund processes are expected to be in place for the Fresno and Murphys shows as well.
The canceled dates represent the entirety of Simmons’ announced U.S. summer solo schedule. The tour has been called off in full before a single show took place. The run had been positioned as a notable rock event and brought together several iconic names from the classic hard rock and heavy metal era under one bill.
Simmons does have additional dates on the calendar later in the year, including December date. His touring plans have not been abandoned entirely. For now, however, the summer run is over, and fans in California and Nevada will have to wait to see whether these markets are revisited in the future.
