Greta Van Fleet singer Josh Kiszka discussed the band taking a hiatus from touring earlier this year, and that he was ‘secluded’ from society. The new quotes appear to be from Kerrang magazine, but the Instagram fan account did not specify where it came from.

“[The band were] holed up in a lodge together in Tennessee, embracing the calm. It was a place where, once the singer had improved, there was time, and also the inspiration, to start writing new things.

‘It’s very strange,’ Josh says of the seclusion, ‘the mind frees up and you start to have thoughts going through your head that wouldn’t have been there on tour. When I’m not singing I have to be painting, or writing or somehow creating. Otherwise I’d go mad.”

These sessions would help form material for Greta’s next phase. The singer reveals that the band took an additional couple of months out in the summer for the sole purpose of writing and recording, and, while he’s keen not to reveal too much, he does say that a full, second album will be arriving in early 2020.”

Dave Grohl broke his silence on Greta Van Fleet recently. Fans on Reddit recently weighed in on what sound they want from the new Greta Van Fleet album. John7R wrote, “I think they will will continue to release both hard and softer songs. Previous bands managed to do it; Led Zeppelin, Guns N’ Rose’s, Van Halen, among others. All I hope is that they don’t fall into some common and marketable type of song like McCartney’s latest album or even most band in the 70’s.”

PEIslander17 said, “Love their harder stuff, When The Curtain Falls, Safari Song, and Highway Tune are absolute anthems. I would love to hear more of that kind of music from them!”

TennisEnnis19 posted, “I really want them to release tighter, professionally recorded versions of some of their older songs (motown funk, etc) and give black flag exposition an official recording. As long as they have some hard bluesy, dare I say zeppelin-like songs I’ll be happy. But I also love songs like Age of Man that really show off Josh’s vocals.” Greta Van Fleet were accused of ‘faking’ vocals a couple of weeks ago.
