Guns N’ Roses frontman Axl Rose tweeted for the first time in several months last night to criticize Vice President Mike Pence for leaving an Indianapolis Colts vs. San Francisco 49’ers game over the weekend when several players took a knee and disrespected the National Anthem.
Rose tweeted, “Thanks WH 4 the $200k Colts game PR stunt.”
Billboard reports, “Guns N’ Roses takes the top ranking on the latest weekly recap of Hot Tours (see list below) with $55 million in revenue reported from the third North American leg of its Not in This Lifetime… Tour. With concerts set in 15 stadiums during the seven-week summer run, the band performed for more than 558,000 fans. (Editor’s note: This story was updated on Oct. 9. It was previously stated the stadium run brought in $53 million.)
The Live Nation-produced tour’s stadium trek kicked off on July 27 in St. Louis with a crowd of 36,382 at The Dome at America’s Center. San Antonio’s Alamodome was the site of the final stop on Sept. 8 with 38,490 fans present. The highest box office counts from the summer run came from the U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis on July 30. The home venue of the NFL’s Minnesota Vikings logged a $5.5 million take from 48,740 sold seats. An outdoor event at Montreal’s Parc Jean-Drapeau was also included in the mix with more than 23,000 tickets sold for the Aug. 19 performance.”
