Guns N’ Roses guitarist Richard Fortus recently shared a parody fake tweet of President-elect Donald Trump announcing that Nickelback would perform at his inauguration on January 20th. Fortus also responded to a rumor that Guns N’ Roses were going to play Roman Abramovich’s New Years Eve party for $1 million. The Killers and Paul McCartney ended up performing at the event, but the Guns N’ Roses rumor did not come true. Fortus wrote on Facebook, “Wait, did I forget something?! Man, I hope not! I’m sitting at home! Who starts these stupid rumors?!”
Fortus’ bandmate Duff McKagan had a quiet New Years Eve, eating pizza with his family.
STLToday is reporting that Guns N’ Roses guitarist Richard Fortus recently married a local lawyer named Stephanie Howlett. The wedding took place last Saturday night at Basso restaurant in front of 25 of their closest friends, including Howlett’s boss, Clayton attorney Travis Noble.
“He paid for the wedding, his gift to us. It was wonderful,” she said.
When contacted Wednesday about honeymoon plans, the lawyer noted she was driving home to west St. Louis County from a court date in Callaway County.
“We spent about 10 days together in Brazil in October, and Richard has been on the road on tour since September,” she said. “So Richard wanted to enjoy some time at home.”
The report does not mention that any of Fortus’ Guns N’ Roses bandmates attended the wedding.
