Howard Stern revealed that he’s a little bit jealous of Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder on an episode of his show, saying that if he was a rock star, he’d want to be just like Eddie. He made the comments when discussing The Beatles song covers. Eddie Vedder covered Prince a couple of days ago.

MarksFriggin.com recapped: Howard said Peter Gabriel did ”Strawberry Fields” and did a good job with that. Howard played some of that cover and said he digs him. Howard said Richie Havens did a good cover of that song too.

Howard took a call from the guys in the back who were doing a Mrs. Miller impression. Howard didn’t last long with that bit. Howard said that Mrs. Miller is dead and gone a long time. Howard said she didn’t come back. Howard said only he and Robin remember who she was anyway.

Howard said that Me First and the Gimme Gimmes covered Strawberry Fields. He liked that one. Howard said Eddie Vedder covered ”You’ve Got To Hide Your Love Away” and that was really good. Eddie Vedder passionately kissed his wife in a recent concert photo. Howard played those and said he would be like Eddie if he was a rock star. He said that was from some movie soundtrack.

Eddie Vedder did not tour with Pearl Jam this year, but he did tour Europe solo over the summer, and he headlined the Ohana Festival in Dana Point, California with Red Hot Chili Peppers and The Strokes in September. Eddie Vedder’s wife also recently revealed a Julia Roberts kiss photo.
