Alice In Chains singer/guitarist Jerry Cantrell and Chris Cornell’s widow Vicky have posted touching tributes in honor of Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen, who died earlier this week. Allen was born and died in Seattle.

He was diagnosed with Stage 1-A Hodgkin’s lymphoma in 1982. His cancer was successfully treated by several months of radiation therapy and a bone marrow transplant. Allen was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma in 2009. Likewise, the cancer was successfully treated until it returned in October 2018, which caused his death on October 15, 2018. He was 65 years old.

Chris Cornell’s widow Vicky posted, “Thank you Paul Allen for all your contributions from technology, sports and the arts to philanthropy …. The life you lead was an inspiration and will continue to be – your legacy will live on forever . My heart and prayers go out to the family, friends and colleagues. RIP #paulallen #legendsneverdie #vulcaninc #mopop.”

Alice In Chains singer/guitarist Jerry Cantrell posted, “Paul Allen, Giant of a human being . Good memories of our paths crossing here and there, jamming, Seahawks games. Our condolences to the Allen family.”
