Late Stone Temple Pilots frontman Scott Weiland got fans in the Christmas mood 7 years ago with his holiday album The Most Wonderful Time of the Year in 2011, and now Queens of the Stone Age frontman Josh Homme has released two Christmas tracks, with pre-orders available for physical copies set for release December 14th. The tracks were recorded during Queens of the Stone Age’s Australian tour last year, and it includes Homme’s performance of “Silent Night” with help C.W. Stoneking, and his reading of “‘Twas the Night Before Christmas” featuring his wife Brody Dalle of The Distillers, and their children.
The Smashing Pumpkins are contemplating a new Christmas album as well for 2019 or 2020, with Billy Corgan stating he was considering working on it soon while in the holiday mood. He recently defended “Baby It’s Cold Outside” after it has been banned from many radio stations after criticism from some for having offensive lyrics, despite it being written well over 60 years ago.
