Queens of the Stone Age singer Josh Homme‘s estranged wife Brody Dalle has posted a quote that has led to many fans thinking it is about her separation from Josh, though she didn’t directly address him.

“A man who lies to himself, and believes his own lies, becomes unable to recognize truth, either in himself or in anyone else, and he ends up losing respect for himself and for others. When he has no respect for anyone, he can no longer love, and in him, he yields to his impulses, indulges in the lowest form of pleasure, and behaves in the end like an animal in satisfying his vices. And it all comes from lying – to others and to yourself. – Fyodor Dostoevsk.”

Apleasantdirective commented on Reddit, “You could pick at this for days but until you know the story it’s all just pointless conjecture. You can’t pick a side without knowing what’s gone on.”

Chooch138 said, “Pick a side? its their private life. they provide entertainment for people in making music. Outside of that… why does anyone care? you don’t know them, they don’t know you.”

Apleasantdirective chimed in, “I wasn’t actually going for that angle with my comment I was trying to point out people that were already picking sides in the matter without knowing the facts.”

Senor_el_tostado posted, “I’ll go ahead and ask the important question since their relationship is none of our business…Are we going to get a hard rock record out of this ordeal or are we going to sap town?”

KahunaBuddha3121 responded, “I don’t care to pry too much into their lives, but listening to like clockwork makes me wonder if they were close to this situation before.”

Half that album references love lost or relationships broken past the point of mending. Sat by the Ocean, Vampyre, I Appear Missing, title track, Kalopsia.”

Newagelove shot back, “Fingers crossed for a Spiritualized ‘Ladies And Gentlemen, We Are Floating in Space’ heavy, heart broken-esque Queens epic. I want the heavy sap.”

RomanSenate said, “Heartbroken bittersweet longing is what makes Lullabies a common choice for me when I consider my favorite Queens record. A latter day redux would be very welcome.” Josh Homme revealed a ‘lonely’ photo after his wife left him a few days ago.
