Kid Rock recently announced a new tour along with a plan to change how concert tickets are sold.
The rocker dropped the news on social media with a video explaining his ideas for ticket pricing. The video came with a caption saying, “Surprise! I decided to let the cat out of the bag early. Sign up for ticket pre-sale starting tomorrow, on my birthday, Friday Jan. 17th at 10am EST.”
In the video, Kid Rock talked about making ticket prices more fair for fans. He said he wants to use ‘all-in pricing,’ which means the price you see advertised is the price you pay at checkout, without hidden fees.
“The best thing that me and some likeminded folks have come up with was- First, we need to pass some serious regulations. We need to have all-in pricing to start. That means, when you see a ticked advertised, when you gotta check out to buy that ticket, that’s the price you pay. Not all this horse sh— and .. charges and bullsh— that’s tucked on.”
He said he would have to use ‘bullsh*t’ dynamic ticket pricing like Bruce Springsteen for this tour for now, unfortunately.

He also suggested that reselling tickets should have a limit of no more than a 50% markup to stop price gouging.
“Everyone knows you’re gonna buy a ticket for a hundred bucks,” he said. “And all of a sudden, it’s 160 or 170 dollars at the checkout. That’s bullsh—. I mean, if you want to have an option to buy parking, or food package, or something, that’s reasonable. Now, the big one is that we need to limit the all-in pricing of reselling a ticket to 50%. Period.”
Rock also said he’s willing to make less money to make this system work, saying there’s still enough profit in the business even with these changes.
“Hopefully that allows us as artists to get tickets in the hands of the fans at the prices we set,” he explained.
“If that means I have to take a pay cut, fine. I’ll go ahead and do it. There’s sh— tons of money in this business even though it costs a lot to put on these shows. It’s plenty of money to be made for everyone.”
