Wes Borland Reaffirms Anti-Trump Message After Fan Backlash

Limp Bizkit guitarist Wes Borland has doubled down on his recent social media comments aimed at supporters of President Donald Trump, after receiving backlash from some fans. The musician’s posts, shared across Instagram Stories and a subsequent Instagram feed post, included explicit language and a direct message to people who disagree with his politics.

In his initial Instagram Story message, Borland wrote that anyone who voted for or supports Trump—or remains friends with people who support the Trump administration—should unfollow him, adding that they should never contact him again. Metal Injection reported that Borland later addressed the reaction with a longer post that again criticised Trump and ICE while also inviting detractors to respond in the comments.

In that later message, Borland included “F*ck Trump” and “F*ck ICE,” while describing Democrats as lacking leadership “except Bernie,” and adding praise for Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. He also referenced it being his birthday and suggested critics could call him a “Libtard,” while signing off with “Hail Satan,” according to the report.

The guitarist followed up with another Story the same day, saying that people “hating” him for not wanting hatred in the world was “wild,” and mocking the familiar pushback of “stick to playing guitar.” Alternative Nation previously covered the earlier blow-up when a Limp Bizkit member swore at the president’s supporters as the comments circulated online.

Borland has been outspoken about Trump since the 2016 election, and his latest posts underline how political flashpoints continue to surface in rock and alternative circles when artists address current events directly. For Limp Bizkit, it is the latest instance where offstage commentary has sparked as much discussion as the music.
