Sam Rivers’ reported cause of death
On Saturday (Oct. 18th), it was announced that Limp Bizkit bassist Sam Rivers had passed away at the age of 48. While no cause of death was immediately released, there are now now new details surrounding Rivers’ death.
A spokesperson for the St. Johns County, Florida Fire Rescue told TMZ on Tuesday (Oct. 21st) that they had responded to a call for a “nonresponsive person in cardiac arrest” on Saturday.
A representative for the St. Johns County Sheriff also revealed to the publication that “deputies responded to an attended death at that address.”
According to the American Institute of Crime Scene Integrity, an attended death is where the deceased “has been a patient under medical care for a serious or life-threatening illness that will likely lead to death in a relatively short period of time.”
It should be noted that no official cause of death has yet been released, but Limp Bizkit’s DJ Lethal appeared to state it was cancer over the weekend, and that matches up with this new report.
Rivers had struggled with alcoholism in the past, even getting a liver transplant, but appears he was sober at the time of his death by all accounts.
