Is a Linkin Park new song coming soon? Linkin Park are dropping hints about something special that will be revealed soon. The band recently sparked speculation about their future plans. They posted a 100-hour countdown timer on their social media handles. The website URL was showing a YouTube livestream with the same timer.
However, as the countdown hit zero, the timer on their website switched and started to count up which took the fans by surprise. Fans noticed that the timer glitched at specific times, including exactly at 9:05, leading them to think an announcement might come on September 5th.

As fans anticipate the revelation, the band came up with a message on the their official website reads simply: “Be part of something. September 5.” They also released a waiver for the event.
Sum 41 frontman Deryck Whibley was rumored to be filling in for the late Chester Bennington. Billboard reported that Linkin Park’s booking agency WME is now taking offers for concerts and festivals featuring Mike Shinoda, Brad Delson and Dave Farrell. It’s not clear who will succeed Bennington but it is also reported that the band are looking for a female vocalist for their reunion.
In other news, a fan who works at the Kia Forum has claimed that there’s an event scheduled for September 11th with the title simply listed as “LP.” This cryptic event listing has led to speculation that Linkin Park could be gearing up for a major performance, possibly tied to the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) happening the same day.
The VMAs are scheduled to take place on September 11, leading to speculation that the “LP” event at the Kia Forum might be a live performance that will be broadcast during the awards show. If this is true, it wouldn’t be the first time Linkin Park has staged an “off-site” performance for the VMAs. In 2010, the band performed “The Catalyst” at the Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles as part of their promotion for A Thousand Suns.
Linkin Park has been nominated for a VMA this year, which could increase the chance of their involvement in the awards show. A performance at the Kia Forum, broadcast live during the VMAs, would be a great way for the band to make their comeback, especially if it’s their first major performance since their hiatus. While nothing has been confirmed, the rumor is circulating and fans are eagerly awaiting any official announcements.
