Saliva’s frontman is teasing he is Linkin Park’s new singer. Saliva singer Bobby Amaru, who did the Already Over Sessions with Mike Shinoda, posted a Linkin Park cover “Lying From You” on Instagram yesterday, and TikTok the day before. Today on his Instagram he posted a video saying he just got off a plane in LA. Emily Armstrong from Dead Sara also posted a studio photo, sparking speculation that she could be the new singer if Linkin Park hire a female singer like originally rumored.

Sum 41 singer Deryck Whibley fueled speculation that he would be Linkin Park’s new singer a few days ago, posting that he had a major announcement on Wednesday, the same day as Linkin Park’s big news. It later came out that Whibley’s announcement is a new book and tour surrounding it, leading to him posting, “Despite popular belief, I am not joining Oasis…or Linkin Park, or any other band for that matter.” Whibley performed at the 2017 Chester Bennington tribute show with Linkin Park, and he recorded with Mike Shinoda a few years ago.

Linkin Park quietly disappeared in 2017 after Chester Bennington died by suicide, with the tribute show being their only performance since his passing. The members of the band have left open the possibility of a return for years, but have said the band was not actively searching for a new singer.

Whibley has announced his memoir, Walking Disaster: My Life Through Heaven and Hell, will be released October 8th.

“Ten years ago, I found myself on the brink of death in a hospital bed. Surviving that moment, I made a promise to myself: I would fight harder than ever for this band and strive to become the best version of myself. Today, I’m proud to say that Sum 41 is experiencing the greatest success in our career, with our biggest hits on the radio and performing at the largest shows of our lives. This book is the story of that journey—through the good, the bad, and the really fucking ugly. It’s about how I fought my way back, the battles I faced along the way, and how I turned those struggles into the fuel that powers everything I do now.”
