Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich has shared rare photos from Metallica’s 2009 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction, including a beautiful shot where a man kisses him on the side of the head.
Ulrich wrote, “10 years ago today our induction into the @rockhall celebration began.
To kick off the weekend, we threw a party….
And what a party it was..
The idea was simple…
Invite everybody who had a role or were in any way responsible for Metallica getting into the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame.
Managers, producers, record company folks, touring crew, journalists, photographers, designers, assistants, radio & TV peeps, family, friends, the neighbor down the street who invited us in for a 6 pack one night 20 years ago … you get the picture!
By the time we had combed all corners of MetalliWorld, there were about 250 people on that list.
… and you know what??
They all fuckin’ came to celebrate with us.
Yes indeed… what a fuckin’ party!
Here are a couple of snaps from that first night… recognize any of the familiar faces??

Metallica recently wrapped up the latest North American leg of their ‘Hardwired…To Self-Destruct’ tour, and they are set to tour in Australia with Slipknot later this year. The band intend to release a new album in a quicker turnaround than their last few records.
