Nine Inch Nails posted on their website, “IT IS WITH GREAT REGRET THAT WE ARE CANCELLING ALL NIN APPEARANCES FOR THE REMAINDER OF THIS YEAR.
WHEN ORIGINALLY PLANNED, THESE SHOWS WERE INTENDED TO BE A CATHARTIC AND CELEBRATORY RETURN TO LIVE MUSIC. HOWEVER, WITH EACH PASSING DAY IT’S BECOMING MORE APPARENT WE’RE NOT AT THAT PLACE YET.
WE ARE SORRY FOR ANY INCONVENIENCE OR DISAPPOINTMENT AND LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING YOU AGAIN WHEN THE TIME IS RIGHT.
TICKET BUYERS FOR THE SEPTEMBER 21 AND 23 SHOWS IN CLEVELAND, PLEASE REFER TO YOUR POINT OF PURCHASE FOR TICKET REFUND INFORMATION.”
ChinchillaLard posted, “I’ve been waiting for this to be announced. I was checking NIN’s FB and IG every day because I just KNEW it was going to be canceled. I’m heartbroken but I totally understand. Reznor is not an idiot so I knew he was getting worried that he’d be at risk and he has kids who can’t be vaccinated yet.
To all of the people who are unvaccinated (and are able to be vaccinated), fuck you. This is mostly because of you.
Does anyone know how to go about getting a refund for the tickets? I tried to request a refund from Live Nation and they emailed me back that the event hasn’t been canceled yet…?”
Jenryalee said, “Sometimes it takes them a minute, but Livenation and Ticketmaster tend to be good about refunds for this. I’d email again in a day AND send them the tweet.”
