Nine Inch Nails Singer Reveals First 2022 Release

It has been recently noted that a previously unreleased collaboration between Nine Inch Nails‘ Trent Reznor and film composer Danny Elfman is included in the upcoming deluxe collector’s edition of the latter’s album Big Mess. The box set is set to release in February 2022 and it includes a new version of the Big Mess song “Native Intelligence,” with vocals by Reznor.  A collaboration with FEVER 333 on the song “Kick Me” will also be found in the set.

Nine Inch Nails will release 1,500 copies of the box

It has been also announced that only 1,500 copies of the box set will be made. You can pre-order yours now via Reznor and Elfman previously linked up for a duet for another Big Mess tune, title “True.” That was released this past August.

One can tell that the recording sessions between Reznor and Elfman would include a lot of discussion regarding movies, as they’re both Oscar-nominated film composers. However, Reznor has Elfman beat when it comes to wins — Trent’s won two with his scoring partner and NIN band mateAtticus Ross, for The Social Network and Soul, while Danny’s been nominated four times but has yet to go home with a trophy.

Nine Inch Nails is scheduled to headline Primavera Sound LA. The festival will take place on September 16-18 next year at the Los Angeles State Historic Park. The COVID-19 pandemic had canceled the event back in 2020. Jerry Cantrell recently revealed that Nine Inch Nails ‘made a turn.’

Primavera Sound Los Angeles 2022 is the first U.S. edition of the long-running Barcelona music festival Primavera Sound and has announced its first batch of performers. Alongside Nine Inch Nails, New Zealand pop icon Lorde, and alt-Brit rockers Arctic Monkeys will headline the three-day festival.

They are among 59 confirmed artists for the gathering. Also scheduled to appear are James Blake, Mitski, Kink Rule, Cigarettes After Sex and ex-Sonic Youth member Kim Gordon. Elsewhere on the bill are Arca, Bad Gyal, Bicep, Buscabulla, Clairo, Darkside, Dry Cleaning, Fontaines D.C., Helena Hauff, Khruangbin, Little Jesus, Low, Paloma Mama, Special Interest, John Talabot and Tierra Whack, among others.
