3rd Secret is a grunge supergroup featuring Soundgarden’s Matt Cameron and Kim Thayil, as well as Nirvana’s Krist Novoselic and Void’s Jon “Bubba” Dupree. The supergroup has released a new music video for the single “Somewhere in Time”.
3rd Secret releases a new music video
The song is lifted off the band’s self-titled debut album, which was released earlier this year, in April, to critical acclaim and positive fan reception. Novoselic said that the music video was filmed coincidentally on the same day that Taylor Hawkins, a good friend of Cameron, passed away.
Taylor Hawkins, who was the Foo Fighters drummer since 1997, died in Bogotá, Colombia on March 25. He was 50 years old. Foo Fighters performed for a couple of hours at Wembley Stadium for a special tribute show for the late band drummer Taylor Hawkins. ‘The Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concerts’ also took place at LA’s Kia Forum on September 27.
“Capturing these videos was a fun time, but tragedy and heartache were soon enough coming for us. We’re hooting and giving high fives. But Neil [Hundt, drum tech] walks on stage and tells us he needs us in the green room immediately.”
“He was super serious. I thought there was a problem with staff on the shoot or some other kind of trouble. No there wasn’t. Neil told us that Taylor Hawkins had died in South America on the Foo’s tour. We were shocked and the tears flowed.”
