The Beatles icon Paul McCartney revealed that it is ‘satisfying’ to read to his grandchildren in their bedroom and watch them fall asleep to reading. He’s definitely a traditionalist in the age of video games and kids being addicted to their phones, and he admits there’s competition these days, but he believes there’s still a place for a more old school type of storytelling at bedtime. He recently released his ‘Hey Grandude!’ children’s book. McCartney recently made a sad injury revelation.
He told BBC, “I like that – at the end of the day – sealing the day by reading to the kids,” he says. “It’s something I’ve always liked doing. And it’s very satisfying when you see them nod off.”
McCartney encourages them to play music for fun and says it’s “up to them” if they decide to do it as a career.
“Following me – for a McCartney kid – it’s not that easy,” he shrugs. “So I don’t push them into it, or even encourage them to do it for a living.
“But just for pleasure I do encourage it. And we sit around and play together.”
Paul McCartney’s heartbreaking final photo with John Lennon was revealed recently. He also said on the Zoe Ball Breakfast Show on BBC Radio 2 that he is interested in playing the 50th anniversary Glastonbury Festival in 2020.
“It’s starting to become some remote kind of possibility.” He added, “People are saying that it will be good if I did it, so I’m starting to think about whether I can or whether it would be a good thing.
“My kids are saying, ‘Dad, we’ve got to talk about Glastonbury’, and I think I know what they mean.” McCartney previously played Glastonbury in 2004. He said, “We played there quite a long time ago so maybe it is time to go back. I don’t know. I’d have to put a few things in place.” Paul McCartney was recently photographed driving a ‘party girl’ in Beverly Hills.
