Pearl Jam issues statement

On June 30, Eddie Vedder and co. took to social media and announced that their two upcoming concerts in Berlin on July 2 and July 3 have been called off and refunds would be available at the point of purchase.

In their statement, the band shared that the band have “yet to make a full recovery” after falling sick last week. They continued: “The impacts of this decision are not lost on us. We feel deeply that so many people spend their time, money, and emotional energy to get tickets and then to come see the band and it is heart wrenching to have to disappoint you.”

Pearl Jam recently called off a concert at London’s Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this weekend. The concert that was slated to take place on Saturday, June 29th was canceled due to illness in the band.

The Seattle band had performed at Manchester’s Co-Op Live arena last week. The band frontman Eddie Vedder had explained that he was unwell. He further revealed that he was having difficulties with his voice. However, the latest post from the band is short on detail stating only that the London show was cancelled “due to illness in the band”.

It also came to light that the ticket prices had started at a whopping price of £157.75. Fans in the US and Ireland also faced similar prices. The prices of the tickets had then dropped massively and it is noted that if the fans booked their tickets by July 5, they would get them at £63 (plus fees). However, they still couldn’t manage to sell out the show. On a related note, 5 other major artists are doing a lot worse selling tickets on tour.

The band are currently touring in support of their twelfth album, Dark Matter, which reached number two on the UK albums chart. In related news, it recently came to light that Eddie Vedder ‘was hard’ on Pearl Jam producer.
