Post Malone Tour Delay Sparks Ticket Sales Talk

Post Malone’s upcoming Live Nation stadium run has become the focus of fresh industry chatter after the artist postponed the first few weeks of the trek, with some observers pointing to soft ticket demand as a factor. The rapper-turned-country star had been set to hit the road with Jelly Roll before the schedule change, drawing immediate attention from fans tracking the tour’s status.

Page Six reported that music sources described Malone as having a case of “Blue Dot Fever,” a slang term referencing the blue dots that indicate unsold seats on Ticketmaster venue maps, as debate flared over whether the postponement was linked to ticket sales.

According to the report, an El Paso, Texas news segment on the cancelled Sun Bowl date showed a Ticketmaster seating chart with large sections still available for the 50,000-capacity venue. Malone, however, publicly disputed the idea that sales were behind the move, saying he pushed the tour back by roughly three weeks because he needed more time to finish promised new music.

The same Page Six piece said Meghan Trainor faced similar chatter after cancelling her Live Nation-backed “Get in Girl” tour last month, citing the demands of album preparation, touring and family life following the birth of her third child in January. Zayn Malik was also noted as pausing a summer tour for health reasons after sharing a hospital-bed photo, while Variety was cited as observing “soft” seat maps.

The situation underscores the pressures facing major tours in an era of high ticket prices and aggressive routing, with artists and promoters balancing creative timelines, health and public perception as fans wait for clearer updates on rescheduled dates.
