Rage Against The Machine‘s classic video have been uploaded on YouTube since the band’s reunion, and fans pointed out on Reddit that “Killing In The Name Of” has been called ‘offensive’ on YouTube. Rage Against The Machine just dropped an Eddie Vedder bombshell.

The video says, “The following content has been identified by the YouTube community as inappropriate or offensive to some audiences.”

LiManYi posted on Reddit, “As a side note, I didn’t get the same ‘viewer discretion is advised’ for Korn’s Daddy, which is far more disturbing.”

The_ham_guy said, “At face value there is seemingly nothing am offensive about “Daddy”. Only once you examine the lyrics do you realize the heavy ‘offensive’ (?) content.”

‘Fuck you I wont do what you tell me’ is all kinds of ‘offensive’ by most standards. Take note of the quotations. I am obviously not offended by Killing in the name, but let’s not be so daft as to understand why someone might be.”

‘F**k you I wont do what you tell me’ is all kinds of “offensive” by most standards. I think you are right, except that at face value, the offensive part would be ‘killing,’ as you would need to examine the lyrics to find out the ‘fuck you I won’t do what you tell me’ -part.”

The_ham_guy posted, “As you would need to examine the lyrics to find out the “fuck you I won’t do what you tell me” -part. You have heard ‘killing in the name’ right? No need to be obtuse. You know exactly what I mean.”

Goat_666 chimed in, “Actually, I don’t. You say that one needs to examine the lyrical content to find out “Daddy” is offensive. How exactly Daddy’s lyrics containing words like r***/f****/mother***** are any different, or less offensive than “F**k you I won’t do what you tell me”? I haven’t heard the Korn song though, so if those words are not said out loud, I understand the difference.”

That fact that you havnt heard the song but have examined the lyrics is exactly my point. You should listen to the song before you comment.

Beyond that you still need to be obtuse or extremely immature to think that one or two swear words, even if sung loudly in the Korn song, would have near the impact as the repeated line ‘f**k you I won’t do what you tell me’ shouted over and over.” Rage Against The Machine and Foo Fighters members recently teamed up at a show.
