While some haters have accused System of a Down of jumping on the Rage Against The Machine bandwagon, Brad Wilk recently said he loves them, and feels like RATM ‘passed the baton’ to them when they split in 2000.
“History here. Too my left you got @dmfl101 friends since we were 14, fellow drummer and studio owner. next to him DJ Lord everybody! One of the baddest in the biz. It’s great to know this Public Enemy, ally, assasin band mate. Then you got @shavoodadjian Love this bad ass low end rhythm brother. We’ve known each other a very long time and I feel like when RATM left the stage we passed the bouton to SOAD, even though they already had their own.
then there’s @breal I’ve known B for over 25 years. Super talented friend and band mate, B is a visionary. RATM would not of sounded like we did if it weren’t for B Real and Cypress Hill. Same goes for HOP and PE.”
System of a Down frontman Serj Tankian has been a good friend to Tom Morello, Tim Commerford, and Brad Wilk, playing Audioslave’s “Like a Stone” with the trio in honor of Chris Cornell at a show in 2017. System of a Down play intermittent live shows, but haven’t released a new album since 2005.
