Red Hot Chili Peppers frontman Anthony Kiedis appeared to get hurt surfing on Friday, sharing a photo on RHCP’s Instagram page with the caption: “Blood , Sun & Surf.”

RHCP drummer Chad Smith looked back at the “By the Way” video in a new Billboard video piece. The video follows Anthony Kiedis as he is hilariously held captive by his cab driver (played by Dave Sheridan), who tries to impress the frontman by singing along to the song and performing an outrageous dance routine, or as Smith describes it, “a good dance. Interpretive dance.”

Smith also notes the dated technology used throughout the video, including a flip-phone and a pager. “We actually debated whether or not we should show such modern technology,” he says. “It was like, is anyone gonna know what this is?”

In the video, Kiedis is eventually rescued by his fellow bandmates, and he smashes the window to escape the car. “He had to do that quite a few times,” reveals Smith. “Very dangerous. You don’t want the singer breaking his elbow!”
