Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea revealed what he learned from late Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain in a new interview with SRF Virus.  Alternative Nation transcribed his comments.

“I learned a lot from Kurt Cobain, not particularly from the time I played trumpet with them, but I think the same thing that everybody had the opportunity to learn, just that he was a very dedicated songwriter who was able to cut through all of the bullshit, and focus on the essence of music.”

He also discussed pain, “I’m grateful for all of the pain in my life, all of the things that are difficult, and took a lot of effort, and were a struggle to get through.  But I’m grateful for those things, because they made me who I am.”
