Former Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist Josh Klinghoffer recently shared a new beach photo on his Pluralone Facebook page. In the photo, Josh has a sly smile on his face, but it’s a bittersweet with a hint of sadness for his fans, who are still devastated by his Red Hot Chili Peppers firing for John Frusciante. Josh Klinghoffer recently discussed his past drug use.
WhoaCanada posted, “I’m not looking to be a contrarian or reign in on the John parade, but I’m a bit disappointed in Josh’s departure.
RHCP was the band that got me into music when By the Way released. I still think my favorite Chili Peppers albums are the ones with John, but I was really excited to see where Josh would go. I was disappointed with IWY like most people, I believe. But I thought The Getaway was fantastic and it sounded new and exciting. The way Josh took a backseat and let Flea take back the driver’s wheel, bizarre new sounds like the ones on Go Robot, etc. It felt like the band had found a new groove.
Anyway, I’m still excited to have John back like everyone else but I would have liked to have seen just one more album from Josh. I hope he continues working with the band in some capacity.”
Triflin-assHoe responded, “You absolutely did come on here to rain on the John parade, or be a contrarian. This has been posted so many times so it’s not like you’re coming in with a fresh take.”
Ryanbrasher shot back, “How did you feel when Dave and Arik were fired? Josh never took the backseat to let Flea lead the grooves, Josh just wasn’t up to the same standard of creativity the rest of the band were used to so they needed to fill the gaps. The songs they still put out are fine but the main reason they sound so different is because they were.” Red Hot Chili Peppers just canceled a John Frusciante reunion show.
