Prophets of Rage debuted their new song “Unfuck the World” live in Santiago, Chile over the weekend, the first taste of music off of the band’s Brendan O’Brien produced debut album. Prophets of Rage features former Rage Against The Machine members Tom Morello, Brad Wilk, and Tim Commerford, along with Public Enemy’s Chuck D, DJ Lord, and Cypress Hill’s B-Real.
Former Rage Against The Machine/current Prophets of Rage guitarist Tom Morello discussed his strategy of dealing with President Donald Trump in a new LA Weekly interview.
“I think an important mantra is to aim for the world you really want, and to not just be constantly defensive,” he says. “Let’s be the ones doing the rabbit-punching on a daily basis.”
He later said he hopes to ‘dethrone’ Trump’s administration, “It’s my hope that the [anti-establishment] movement that the Trump-Pence regime is bringing into existence will not just dethrone the regime but will also help to transform the United States of America into a more just and decent place,” Morello says.
“This is the beginning of the counteroffensive.”
He also revealed that Prophets of Rage finished recording their debut album in March, produced by Brendan O’Brien.
“Each of those bands [Rage Against The Machine, Cypress Hill, and Public Enemy] is mighty in its own right, but there’s no guarantee when you play together it’s gonna be any good at all,” he says about the band’s 2016 formation.
