Pearl Jam bassist Jeff Ament wore a shirt during Pearl Jam’s April 2017 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction acceptance speech that listed many deserving bands that were not yet inducted, including 90’s icons Soundgarden, Alice In Chains, Smashing Pumpkins, Faith No More, and Nine Inch Nails.

A year and a half later, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame have finally responded to the shirt in a series of new tweets.

“In 2017, @pearljam bassist Jeff Ament made his list of hopeful future nominees clear from the induction ceremony stage…”

…The custom-made shirt outlined influential artists not yet inducted into the #RockHall…

But that could change soon….#RockHall2019 is coming. Who do you want to see get inducted?

Soundgarden’s lack of induction despite being eligible for around 4 years now is especially egregious based on Chris Cornell’s incredible legacy with the band, and Audioslave and Temple of the Dog as well.
