Sammy Hagar writes personal message to David Lee Roth

Sammy Hagar recently revealed that he reached out to former Van Halen singer, David Lee Roth with a personal message, as shared on Instagram.

The message came following recent tensions between the two musicians regarding Hagar’s claims about Eddie Van Halen visiting him in a dream. Roth had previously mocked these claims.

A Van Halen fan suggested to Hagar: “Sammy, you should make a drink called the Diamond Dave. Perhaps as an olive branch.”

In response, Sammy Hagar said, “I actually sent Dave a personal message recently telling him that I believed his dream about Eddie Van Halen rap he did in a show a week or two ago. I think Dave and I are cool, different Cowboys for sure, but I think as we get older, we probably appreciate each other a little more.”

Sammy Hagar Celebrates Van Halen’s Legacy

The exchange follows Hagar’s previous statements about writing his song “Encore, Thank You, Goodnight” after allegedly being visited by Eddie Van Halen in a dream. Roth had publicly ridiculed these claims.

This recent development marks a significant shift in the relationship between the two Van Halen frontmen. They have maintained a complicated dynamic for decades since their respective tenures with the legendary rock band.

Sammy is still honoring Van Halen’s legacy with Michael Anthony. He also recently spoke about Van Halen’s Balance. The album turned thirty this year, and Rhino is celebrating with an expanded edition of the band’s multi-platinum tenth studio album. It follows last year’s successful reissue of For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge (Expanded Edition) and concludes Rhino’s spotlight on the band’s classic albums from the Hagar era.
