Slash’s New Barbie Song Stuns Guns N’ Roses Fans

It has come to light legendary Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash is featured in one of the most highly-anticipated films of the Summer, the upcoming “Barbie” flick directed by Greta Gerwig.

The movie, which will be out on July 21, had its first screening last Sunday, July 9, at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California, where Variety had a chat with famed producer Mark Ronson, who is co-scoring the film with Andrew Wyatt.

During the interview, Ronson confirmed that the legendary Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash is featured on “Barbie”‘s star-studded soundtrack, as the musician provided his guitar chops to the track “I’m Just Ken”.

Commenting on how it was to work with the iconic axeman, Ronson, who co-wrote the song with Wyatt, said:

“I sent him the song and he was like, ‘This is a good song… cool, I’ll play on it.’ He kills it, he plays the solo at the end and the rhythm parts. It’s wonderful.”

A clip of the track has been made available by Warner Bros, showing part of the tune sung by Ryan Gosling’s Ken, and featuring some audible guitar work by Slash.

The Guns N’ Roses guitarist is far from the only superstar recruited for the “Barbie” movie soundtrack. Other notable high-profile artists featured in the film include Billie Eilish, Lizzo, Dua Lipa, Nicki Minaj, and Charlie XCX, among many others.
