Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan has revealed that there are already plans to record a follow up to their forthcoming album Shiny And Oh So Bright, Vol. 1 / LP: No Past. No Future. No Sun. Shiny and Oh So Bright, Vol. 2 is planned to be released in 2019, which will be a busy year for Corgan with two solo releases, and possibly the MACHINA reissue if it can be completed in 2019. The MACHINA reissue may have newly recorded unreleased tracks.

“We’re in this weird place of, ‘Let’s finish this [tour and album release] and then make some decisions,” Billy Corgan tells Kerrang!. “We’re definitely making plans to record another LP, with the idea it will come out at the end of next year.”

Corgan said the band are planning more shows after their tour ends on December 8th in Los Angeles.

“There are obviously more shows being talked about [but] I wasn’t sure, going in, that there would be more tours,” he admits. “I thought, if this is going to be it, we’re going to go out swinging. If this is the last show, let’s give it our best go. Let’s play this set we never played, let’s be the band we never were, one time.”
