Soundgarden bassist Ben Shepherd recently weighed in after a fan questioned how Soundgarden could be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame while legendary acts like Motörhead have yet to receive the same recognition. Shepherd’s response was deeply respectful.

A fan challenged the fairness of Soundgarden’s induction compared to Motörhead’s absence. Shepherd stepped in with a message that quickly won over the comment section.

“Hey, I’m in Soundgarden and I feel the same way. No need to dis anybody. I love Thin Lizzy, DEVO, Motörhead, Iron Maiden too.”

Shepherd went on to share a touring trick he’s used around the world.

“Here is a tour trick to figure out where the best section of any city is… ask a local where you can find a Motörhead shirt or album, where you can find an Iron Maiden shirt or album, where you can find a Thin Lizzy shirt or album. Same for DEVO and the Ramones. That’s a tried and true way of finding the like-minded, open-minded cool people worldwide.”

The bassist finished with a hopeful encouragement to celebrate all deserving artists:

“Stay on the good foot and let’s get all those guys in, and I will be there with you to celebrate each time! Yours truly, Ben Shepherd.”

He further added, “There isn’t enough proactive support in the world right now and there too many people just at eachother instead of with eachother. I absolutely agree that it’s insane and I’m on your side brother. Peace to you !!!!. Now let’s get them in the RRHOF!”
