KFAN’s Chris “Hawk” Hawkey recently discussed his issues with Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler. Hawkey organized the Twin Cities Summer Jam in Minnesota, and he has claimed on the Power Trip radio show that Steven Tyler made an odd toilet demand for the show on his rider..

Hawk: One hour before the show, one hour, I’m standing on the side of the stage, just off this giant and enormous stage. Somebody who I won’t name because I don’t want to subject them to what I’m subjecting myself to, came over and said: “Aerosmith isn’t going on]” and I went: “they’re twenty thousand people out there, what do you mean they aren’t going on?” As a festival, you make choices for what you are going to do with seating and because we paid a lot of money for Aerosmith to be at this festival, we had to sell some VIP seating in order to make enough money in order for the festival to happen.

Hawk previously gave more details about Tyler allegedly refusing to perform.

That’s the bottom line. We had it so there were seats, different levels of VIP seats – but again, you can’t just do general admission if you’re gonna book Aerosmith for that kind of money that we booked, that’s just how it is. If you wanna book, and I’m not rippin’ the guy but if you wanna book George Thurgood for your festival you can be all general admission and charge ten dollars a ticket, that’s cool. If you’re gonna book Aerosmith for your festival you’re gonna have to charge money because you have to pay them, I don’t have enough money to pay for Aerosmith.

Hawk: Well, even though they had been there literally all day, an hour before the show Steven [Tyler] decided that he didn’t want VIP seating and decided he wanted everybody to come up close to the stage. Well, that didn’t seem to make sense to those who paid a thousand dollars to be seated in the front row for the show, or whatever they paid, I don’t remember the exact number but you get my point. So my business partner said that we can’t do that and Steven got into his limo, locked the door and said that he was going home.

Co-Host: Are you serious?! Wow.

Hawk: Now again, I don’t blame Steven Tyler at all, I’m not gonna lie to you. I don’t blame him because the VIP section is a lot different than the general admission section. Whereas there were thousands of people in the general admission section, in the VIP section there were hundreds. So, instead of being surrounded by people like he’s being used to he’s gonna be kinda surrounded by people, then really surrounded by people in front of him and the rest of the people are back there.
